PhD scholarship in Sociomicrobiology

We offer a PhD fellowship at Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (DTU Bioengineering) at the Technical University of Denmark. The PhD project will be executed at the Bacterial Interactions and Evolution group in the Section for Microbial and Chemical Ecology. 

Your PhD project will contribute to our understanding of the social interactions and evolution in bacterial biofilms. You will concentrate on biofilms of Bacillus subtilis, but will also scrutinize the impact of microbial interactions and the colonization of the plant root. You will explore high throughput screening and sequencing techniques to apprehend the complexity of regulatory pathways, quorum sensing and their impact on the assembly of biofilms.

PhD fellowship/scholarship at Graduate School of Science and Technology, Aarhus University, Denmark

The Department of Environmental Science, Aarhus University (AU), Roskilde, Denmark is offering a 3 year PhD position in microbial biotechnology as a part of the MicroDegrade project. The project will be focused on discovery and study of pure cultures or consortia of microorganisms (bacteria and/fungi) with potential for biodegradation of micropollutants, for instance pesticide residues, pharmaceuticals, personal care products, hormones, or industrial chemicals. This will involve the combined approach of state-of-the art molecular tools, newest environmental analytical chemistry platforms and cutting-edge cultivation techniques.
